Breakdown (1997)

The film focuses on Jeff and Amy Taylor, who are moving to California. When they find themselves stranded in the middle of a desert, their trip comes to a sudden halt. Amy had taken with a friendly trucker to a small diner to call for help, but Jeff finds that no one in the diner has seen his wife.
