Godzilla (1998)

In the first American cinematic adaption of Tomoyuki Tanaka's franchise, scientist Niko Tatopolous is assigned the task to find the answer for mysterious huge footsteps in Panamian forests, which is later revealed to be the trace of a giant irradiated lizard created by a French atomic bomb trial. The creature is making its way to the island of Manhattan, creating the city's worst nightmare.
