Hairspray (1988)

Tracy Turnblad is an overweight but confident and always happy girl. She auditions for The Corny Collins Show, a popular Baltimore teenage dance show and is chosen as a regular dancer of this show, infuriating the show's reigning queen, Amber Von Tussle. Tracy also encounters Amber in other aspects, including that Tracy uses her fame to fight for racial integration, which is opposed by the Von Tussle.
