At the age of 34, good-natured Marty is still unmarried due to his shyness. One night while going to the Stardust Ballroom, he encounters a lonely teacher named Clara and is instantly attracted by her. After inviting her to dance and talking to her, Marty sees his chance to get rid of the bachelorhood.
