Save the Last Dance

The 17-year-old high-school student Sara Johnson dreams to become a professional ballerina, but due to her mother's death, she decides to give up it and move to her father's bleak Chicago neighborhood. She meets Derek, a black man in STEPPS Club and he incorporates more hip hop into her style and encourage her to pursue her dream of ballet. Sara and Derek develop a romance which is then struggled by Derek's jealous ex-girlfriend.
