Wishmaster

The gemologist Alexandra Amberson accidentally releases a hideous Persian djinn who wants to take over the world but cannot until his awakener makes three wishes. Unfortunately, Alex is not the wishful type. While trying to persuade her to wish, the djinn amuses himself by granting the wishes of others in horrible ways.
