Based on the "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" novel series, the plot follows the adventures of Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett), an eccentric time-traveling "holistic detective", and his reluctant sidekick Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood).
