In this new season, Melinda meets Eli James who has the ability of hearing ghosts after his near-death experience. Meanwhile, Jim is killed, but he does not cross over and stays in the body of Sam Lucas who had died in an accident. Ned and Eli discover the Book of Changes written by the Watchers which can tell about outstanding dates in the past and future including the death of Andrea and Jim.
