Atlantis Cable News anchor Will McAvoy returns to his job by a public tirade about America's shortcomings during a political debate, just to realize most of his staff have quit and facing with his ex-love arrival MacKenzie McHale as the new executive producer of his firm. McHale comes for the only mission: retrieve glorious days of televised news instead of ratings-driven infotainment, but her very first plan for the firm is not what Will think he will follow.
